This means writing down what happens at bedtime and during the night.
In the diary, you can write:
What time you went to sleep
How long it took you to fall asleep
If they woke up in the night
What you did before bed (like watching TV or reading)
If anything happened that made you feel upset, worried or excited
Writing this down can help you spot patterns.
You can also show the diary to a doctor, health visitor or medical team if you need more help.
