Easy Read Sleep Diary

You can try using a sleep diary for at least one week.

This means writing down what happens at bedtime and during the night.

In the diary, you can write:

  • What time you went to sleep

  • How long it took you to fall asleep

  • If they woke up in the night

  • What you did before bed (like watching TV or reading)

  • If anything happened that made you feel upset, worried or excited

Writing this down can help you spot patterns.

You can also show the diary to a doctor, health visitor or medical team if you need more help.
